What is IPS e.max?
An all-ceramic lithium disilicate system that can be pressed or milled as monolithic full contour, or cut back and layered for added character. Metal free and kind to opposing enamel.

When to consider alternatives
Heavy bruxism, long spans or limited connector space may be better served by zirconia. Share photos or models if you would like pre-production advice.
Preparation guidance
Use a defined shoulder or deep chamfer with smooth internal line angles. Provide even axial and occlusal reduction appropriate to the selected translucency. Avoid sharp edges and unsupported enamel. Keep margins supragingival where possible.
Cementation
Adhesive resin bonding maximises retention and strength. Follow a complete protocol for try-in, clean, etch, silane and adhesive cement. Conventional or self-adhesive options may be suitable for retentive preparations at your clinical discretion.
Records and submission
Digital: Send upper, lower and bite (STL/PLY) with shade notes and photographs.
Analogue: Ship accurate PVS impressions or models with a clear prescription and finish preference. VITA Classical and 3D-Master shades supported.
Quality and turnaround
Each restoration is checked for marginal integrity, contacts, occlusion and surface finish before dispatch. Production is scheduled to meet fit dates where possible; include your target date when you submit the case.
